At 6am on July 9th Edward Buckland of Edward Buckland Auctioneers and Land Agents, Martin Dyer of Handlesbanken and John Perry of Lloyds Bank Agriculture are going to attempt to circumnavigate Cornwall on their vintage Massey Ferguson tractors in three days accompanied by Keven Bennetts (Consols Oils), Steven Buckland, Luke Wallis & Will Curtis all on their Massey Fergusson 135’s.
This grueling challenge of endurance will make their way along the South Coast ending in Bodinnick at Fowey. The second day will complete the South Coast to Rame head before setting off for Kilkhampton on the North coast and ending at Boscastle where the evening will be spent in the company of the Boscastle Bouys in the Napoleon Inn. The final day is the beat for home taking in the North coast and before arriving back at Lands End. This journey will be in excess of 300 miles and likely to exceed 36 hours of driving 70 year old tractors which were designed to plough fields at 3 mph.
Throughout the challenge we will be making regular updates as to progress, locations and tribulations on our Facebook page so please follow us https://www.facebook.com/The-Cornwall-Three-Way-1699427863503004
This epic challenge is to raise vital funds for the RABI (Royal Agricultural Benevolent Insitution) and Childrens Hospice South West. At the time of writing we have so far raised a staggering £8,500 from local businesses and individuals for which we are incredibly grateful, but we still require more support!
We invite you to our “homecoming party” on Thursday 12th July at Truro Cricket Club from 3pm and is open to everyone. We would be delighted to see you there.
